9 950 Allianz employees support SOS Children’s Villages

Leading runners from Africa, Emanuel Ndaba from AGCS in South Africa and Abibata Yeo from Allianz Africa Services in Ivory Coast, were invited to visit the SOS Children’s Villages in Abidjan between 5th and 7th of March, 2019.

They were hosted by a delegation from SOS Children's Villages which included Laurette Enokou, the Fund Development and Communications Advisor for SOS in Ivory Coast, Fiona James, the Funds Development and Communications Director for SOS in Western and Central Africa and Lauren Quin, the Fund Development Advisor for SOS in Eastern and Southern Africa.

As part of the tour, the team had the opportunity to meet and mingle with the SOS families both within their village in Abobo-Gare, a suburb of Abidjan, and also those within the Family Strengthening Program within the town.

The SOS Family Strengthening Program Abobo-Gare in Abidjan is one of the largest in the region and helps more than 1,000 children and their parents to live a stable life despite severe poverty and diseases. All efforts aim to maintain family stability and alleviate hardship so that children have a secure home.

Participants visit Madam Yeo Atchata who lives in Sagbé in Abobo Gare, a widow with 6 children who is in the Family Strengthening Programme. She was supported with training programmes and also funds to set up her business.
