Allianz Africa has announced leadership changes at Allianz Cameroon and Allianz Ivory Coast. These appointments are subject to the approvals of the local regulatory authorities.
Olivier Malâtre, currently the CEO of Allianz Ivory Coast Non-Life, is appointed CEO of Allianz Cameroon. He will succeed Frédéric Desprez, who will be taking a new position within Allianz to be announced at a later date. These changes will take effect on May 1, 2020, following a two month transition period.
Olivier Malâtre has held the position of CEO of Allianz Côte d'Ivoire Assurances Non-Life since 2015. From 2010 to 2015, he was CEO of Allianz Senegal. Prior to that, he held various management positions within the Allianz Group, notably in France, Lebanon and Asia Pacific.
Mamadou Koné, currently CEO of Allianz Ivory Coast Life, will take over as CEO of Allianz Ivory Coast Non-Life. His appointment will be effective on March 1, 2020.
Mamadou Koné began his career in 1996 within Axa Côte d'Ivoire. In 2002, he joined the General Secretariat of the CIMA (Conférence Interafricaine des Marchés d'Assurances). As Chief Insurance Controller of the CIMA, he led several supervisory missions to more than a hundred African insurance companies. He joined the Allianz Group in 2010 as Deputy Managing Director of the Life subsidiary in Ivory Coast, and became CEO in 2014.
