Nandini started her career as a lawyer with a renowned New York law firm before spending several years as in-house counsel at a real estate company. In 2010, she joined Allianz Real Estate in Munich as Senior Counsel for US Legal Affairs before joining Allianz Consulting as Consultant for central functions. Nandini held the position of Executive Assistant to Oliver Bäte, CEO of the Allianz Group before being appointed Regional Head of Legal at Allianz Africa, a position she has held since May 2018.
In her new role, Nandini will lead mergers, acquisitions and transformation operations within Allianz Africa to help strengthen Allianz’s presence on the continent. She will focus on the integration of newly acquired companies into the Allianz Group and also take over the management of the Nairobi hub.
“In her current function, Nandini has been integral to the structuring, negotiation and execution of our internal and external M&A activities in East Africa and elsewhere, making her uniquely qualified for this role ” said Coenraad Vrolijk, Regional CEO, Allianz Africa.
For Nandini, the keys to success are growing the Allianz business in Africa strategically and profitably, and learning how to instill Allianz DNA in newly acquired companies.
“My biggest challenge is integrating companies in real life, not just on paper – and by finding the right balance between bringing the best of Allianz but also learning from the experiences of other players”, she says.
As required by her responsibilities as Managing Director of Allianz Africa Holding GmbH, Nandini will remain based in Munich.
