Coenraad Vrolijk is Regional CEO for Allianz in Africa since January 2017 and Allianz Africa Board of Management member. At Allianz, he was previously senior advisor to the Board of Management of Allianz SE regarding Africa topics.
Coenraad’s career includes 14 years of experience at McKinsey & Company, focusing on insurance in Europe, after which in 2011 he joined the asset management firm BlackRock as Managing Director, to build the Financial Markets Advisory team for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Just before joining Allianz, Coenraad had his first experience in emerging market insurance as CEO at Rosewood Insurance Group. Under his leadership, Rosewood developed insurance businesses in countries like Pakistan, Rwanda, and Nigeria.
Coenraad studied at Brown, completing a Ph.D. and a Master’s in Economics. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Bath, the UK, in Economics with Computing and Statistics. He is currently a supervisory board member for Africa Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), BIMA (MILVIK), the International Baccalaureate Organization as well as multiple subsidiaries of Allianz in Africa.
Anuj joined the board of management of Africa as the Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from January 2017.
An Indian, he started his career in Financial Services in 1995 before joining the Allianz Group in 1997 as its first international trainee in Asia Pacific at Singapore. In a career spanning 24 years, he has worked for Allianz Group for over 16 years in two different stints. Anuj has held senior responsibilities in Finance in different countries including that of Vice President-Finance of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, India, Chief Financial Officer of Allianz Insurance Co. Egypt, Country Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of Allianz Indonesia and Chief Financial Officer for largest life company in India, SBI Life from 2007 to 2009.
In Sept 2013, he was appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, India, fourth largest life company by New business.
He holds a Masters of Management Studies (Finance) from the Sydenham Institute of Management Studies - University of Bombay in India and Advance Diploma in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.
Delphine Traoré Maïdou joined the board of management of Africa as Chief Operations Officer (COO) in February 2017. She is responsible for the development of Allianz’s business on the African continent. In addition, Delphine remains a non-executive member of the board of management of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) South Africa where she previously held the position of CEO. Originally from Burkina Faso, Delphine has consistently been ranked as one of the top economic leaders for tomorrow by the Choiseul 100 Africa study.
After graduating, in 1996, she joined Ohio Casualty Group of Insurance initially as a Senior Commercial Multi-Lines Insurance Underwriter and Marketing Representative and later as Regional Underwriting Manager. In 2005, she joined Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Canada and held positions of a Liability Underwriter and Head of Market Management where she was responsible for identifying potential markets, client and broker target segments to support business development across Canada.
Delphine is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute For Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. She also holds a Master of Science in Insurance Management from Boston University, Boston, USA.
She graduated Cum Laude Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting from University of Pittsburgh, in the United States of America (USA) in 1996.
Originally from Germany, Joerg Weber joined Allianz Africa in February 2017 as CEO for Allianz Morocco and Board member of Allianz Africa.
Joerg started his career in Finance at the Dresdner Bank AG back in 1987. He then joined McKinsey & Company in 1996 as an Engagement manager.
He became part of Allianz in 2002, and held several positions in finance until 2009 when he was appointed Head of Business Division for “Western & Southern Europe (incl. Africa)”. He was also member of various governing bodies (Board of directors, Audit committees, Risk committees) for various Allianz Entities in Europe.
From July 2013, Joerg was Member of the board of Management of Allianz Benelux, responsible for Direct Distribution, Digitalization and Market Management. He was also appointed CEO of Allsecur Netherlands (Allianz Direct distribution subsidiary).
Joerg graduated from ESCP Europe as “major”, he is as well a Doctor in Business Administration.
